A Look at our Summer Youth Program

Our summer and after school youth program will be designed to offer students from HSPS with employment, education and fun. Our curriculum will be focused on 4 main areas:  horticulture, youth empowerment, health & passing on knowledge. We are applying for the youth to be paid through SYEP, and they will work 4 days a week for 5 hours.

The youth program will integrate education into our daily tasks in the garden and farm, as well having specific workshop times. Youth will develop ownership of the site as the season goes on, with opportunities for future site development and crop planning. In the future youth who have been in the program for multiple years will take on more and more mentor and leadership roles.
